Lights, camera, action!
The iiaa broke new ground by creating a never-before-seen event at the Royal Institution in London on 8th September. The TV-style show, called iiaa Live, was hosted by well-known presenter Anna Richardson, star of You Are What You Eat and How Not to Get Old and was filmed in front of a live audience of over 450 skincare professionals.
The creative team behind the fact-packed event used green screen technology to create a virtual TV studio, which formed the backdrop to inspiring talks and chat-show style interviews with special guests from the cutting-edge of the skincare industry. Speakers included Environ founder Dr Des Fernandes, Professor Malcolm Madden, an expert in vitamin A, Dr Rachel Watson, co-editor of the British Journal of Dermatology and an expert in how skin ages, Professor Antony Young, who has researched ultraviolet radiation (UVR) for 25 years and Professor Mark WJ Ferguson, an expert in growth factors.
Topics included intrinsic/extrinsic ageing, the effects of UV radiation on ageing, the power of peptides and how to nourish skin from within. Vitamin A once again emerged as the true hero when it comes to beautiful, healthy skin, with Dr Madden describing it as ‘the holy grail’ of skincare and rejuvenation.
The event will be broadcast on this website and YouTube as series of programmes over the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
