Samantha EvansTraining Centre: London

"My beauty career began where I studied at Uxbridge College where I gained my beauty qualifications, I already had a part time reception job in a small local beauty salon and once qualified, I moved to a larger busy salon in West London. There I worked my way up to assistant manager and then on to salon manager, that was when I discovered my passion to teach. We had a young apprentice just starting out and apart from going to college once a week, her training was done with myself. She went on to win apprentice of the year at the London Business awards and now successfully runs her own business. It was very rewarding to have played a part in her journey and I thought I would love to be able to do this for a job and share my knowledge and passion with others. I then decided it was time for a new adventure and went to embark on a new journey in Australia for two years, upon returning I knew I defiantly wanted to go into teaching, so I took myself back in to education to gain the qualifications needed. When I saw the job at the iiaa advertised for a trainer I knew instantly it was my dream job. I was so thrilled when I was offered the job to work for such a reputable company and three amazing brands!"

What inspires you to train?
"Knowing you play such a big part in someone’s career, sharing the same passion, giving them the best knowledge and training to go back into their salons and make a difference. We work with three such incredible brands, and seeing the students get excited and fall in love with the products and treatments by the end of their training is very satisfying to see."
What is your desert island product?
"I have to choose just one? That is impossible, but I’ll try and narrow it down! To feed my skin from within it would have to be Skin Plus, they keep my skin looking great and there’s even a supplement in there for my hair and nails! Environ’s Derma-Lac Lotion is my all-time favourite, I love it, the glow you get from it is incredible and I couldn’t be without it. jane iredale it would be PurePressed® Base Mineral Foundation, I love how easy it is to apply, I can build it for more coverage depending on the occasion, and its mattifying on my oily skin. I also couldn’t be without lip drink; my favourite colour is buff and it keeps my lips looking hydrated with a hint of colour"
