STEP 1: YOUR WEBSITE
Your website will often be your first chance to showcase your business and make a good impression on a potential new customer. When was the last time you visited it yourself? Take a look and ask a friend to do the same thing. What does it say about you? Is it easy to find information? Often, we create a site and then forget to keep it live, fresh and interesting. Put a note in your diary to put something new up at least once a month
STEP 2: THE WORLD IS MOBILE
75% of people look for and buy goods and services using their mobile phone. It’s now essential to make sure your website looks great across different devices – e.g. mobiles, tablets, and PCs. If the formatting looks wrong, the best investment you can make is to implement responsive design. Apparently, as much as 60% of people will automatically go to another site if they cannot access yours easily through a mobile!
STEP 3. FIRST IMPRESSIONS COUNT
Make sure your homepage looks professional and uncluttered. What you do, where you’re based and the brands you sell should all be immediately obvious, don’t make the viewer search for the information. Include calls to action – eg book now and of course make sure opening hours and contact details are highly visible
STEP 4. PICTURES SPEAK A THOUSAND WORDS
Make sure your images are refreshed regularly and you use photography that reflects your services and values. Keep your wording punchy and concise - don’t have too much text on each page. People prefer to skim read and are more drawn to visual content such as images and videos.
STEP 5. HOW MUCH?
Include indicative pricing on your treatment menu. It’s all about making it easy and potential (time poor) customers may be put off if they have to call to find out how much your services cost.
STEP 6. WORD OF MOUTH (OR FACE) IS SO POWERFUL
Include case studies and reviews. New clients love to read about the great results that are possible. To encourage existing clients to contribute their stories, talk to your Account Manager about how we can support you. The more successful we can be in building great stories the better it is for everyone.
STEP 7. MOVING IMAGES
Video is the most powerful medium. Upload the videos available from the iiaa dropbox.
Animations and rotating images enables you to convey several messages in a short space of time.
STEP 8. LET’S GET SOCIAL
Include your social handles on every page. Encourage clients to follow you and post their thoughts
Put aside time to make a post weekly. You can get ideas and share the brand posts iiaa have put together on their social media accounts.
